Bleacher report was one of the first major sports publications to report on the tragic death of NFL star Robert Griffin III.

The former Washington Redskins quarterback was killed during a car crash in Alabama on May 27, 2016.

Griffin’s girlfriend, Myra Hindley, was driving at the time.

The two were involved in a hit-and-run accident in the early hours of the morning, and Hindley died at the scene.

She was 24.

Robert Griffin, center, died May 27 at the age of 24 after a hit and run.

The car in which he was traveling crashed in Alabama.

(Associated Press/NBC News) Griffin’s father, Robert Griffin Jr., had tweeted about the accident, saying he had no idea his son had been involved.

“I’ve heard so much, and I don’t know,” Robert Griffin said at the news conference.

“It’s really hard.

It’s very hard.”

His mother, Barbara, also addressed the media.

“He’s a hero.

I don’ know why he’s been killed,” she said.

“There’s nothing I can say that will change that.”

The death of Robert Griffin is the latest in a string of deaths that have plagued the NFL.

In June, former Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown died in a head-on collision with a car.

In September, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron died in the back of a police cruiser after being pulled over by a police officer.

The NFL announced that the league will pay for the family of NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss to attend the funeral of his daughter.
